Stuart Haygareth, Categories
This work was done by Stuart Haygarth it was done very well in the way that he does not get his colours/shades mixed up and keeping them consistant
For this task i dicided to on the right hand task I took loads of objects that were mainly blue and placed them on a blue backround, on the left hand side i got loads of cars and placed them on a white sheet of paper to create a white backround
WWW: I managed to take both photos without my shadow in the photos!
EBI: For the blue task on the right hand side, it would be better if i could of got all the same shades of blue.

Andre Kertesz
I like how on the second photo only has one big and curved shadow from a fork that has multiple gaps in it
For this task, I got 3 forks, an A4 white piece of paper, a torch, and I used the camera on my phone. I placed the forks in different places, and the main part of these photos being the way they are is that i shone the lights in different positions to reflect the shadows in these different angles, I then got my phone and took the photos.
WWW: The shadows came out really well/dark
EBI: I could think of more out of the box ideas next time.

Burning House
My reasonings for the objects that I selected are:
Tottenham flag - because i got it at a football match and they are my faviourite team (sentimental)
Cologne - to make sure i don't smell (practical)
Trophy - It was the first trophy i ever won (sentimental)
Afro comb - To make sure my hair doesn't get too messy (practical)
Headphones - to entertain me by listening to music (practical, Valuable and Sentimental)
Football - also to entertain me because it's my faviourite sport (practical and sentimental)
Medal - I got it from Fortismere school as an arward (sentimental)
PS4 and Controller - are also to entertain me (Valuable and sentimental)

For this task, we had to gather 10 objects from our household that we would save if our house was burning down “It's a conflict between what's practical, valuable, and sentimental," - Robert Holden (2015)
The reason why I have 3 different pictures of the same thing is because i'm selecting my good photo (Bottom photo) and my bad photo (top Left)

This is some of Robert Holden's work, what i like most about his work is how organised he is with it all and dispite the image being quite small he still manages to get everything there that he needs in the photo's.
Cornflakes
In this task we had to take 20 different photo's of foods and make a GIF out of them, the good thing about my one is that i managed to keep the backround almost exactly the same throughout the whole thing, the bad part is the lighting on my Quavers, i should of focused the flash on a different part of the photo because all it is now is just white
Edward Weston
For this task we had to take photo's of interesting fruits with a dark backround and a strong light source, all of the photo's that i took throughout the task are presented to the right and my favourite one taken from the task is shown to the left
For the photo on the left i made sure that my phone was focusing the lighting on the darkness around the banana; As for the two other photos i focused the lighting on the actual banana (the left one was focused on the top and the right one was focused on the bottom) this caused both of those photos to be overexposed |

David Hockney
WWW: I like how many different angles that I have in all the photos and how I have got the larger scale of these photos that wouldn't usually be visible with the human eye
EBI: I could get less of the floor in the photo and gets higher angles
EBI: I could get less of the floor in the photo and gets higher angles
For this task we had to take between 9-12 photo's of a chair from slightly different angles each time we then had to put them basically all on top of eachother to try and get the bigger picture of what was going on in the moment of the photo
This is some of Hockney's work, you can clearly see that these are multiple photos put into one, he does this really well, you can see this by the fact that the outside is very smooth, I also personally like the fact that quite a few of these photo's are slightly tilted to the sides.
Reflection of a person
In these photo's you can see the elements of the face that I have tried to point out.
You can see here how Chad Pitman and I have taken similar types of photos, you can see how there is a full face photo then it zooms in on induvidual parts of the face, ie. hands and eye.
Development
Ed Ruscha
The artist Ed Ruscha takes photos of everyday objects that you might not always notice. Concerning this, we have already worked on Aundre Kertesz, who works on bringing the shadow out of these ordinary objects stand making them stand out, and Edward Weston, who focuses on shining a light in the face of these everyday objects, as well as the way that Luke Stevenson takes his photos, because he takes objects that we wouldn't usually look at for more than a second and he makes us look at them for long periods. What I like about Ed Ruscha is how he makes the photo's look very interesting and how he makes them stand out. I plan to take photos of cupboard objects with a strong light source and either a light or dark background because when you do this you can't be distracted by anything in the background and you only have the object to focus on.
My response
|
In my response, I took photos of 6 different objects from my cupboard, I feel like I have recreated them rather well but there is definitely room for improvement for example in his one he has a light background whereas mine the background is more grey if I could add this feature to my photo's then my work could be a lot better.

Peter Tonningsen
Peter Tonningson collects odd things that wash up on California beaches near his home in San Francisco, his work is seen as very colourful. He scans his work on a flat-bed scanner. The project is about discovery it calls attention to the things we posses but discard. This work also forces you to focus due to the fact that it is also isolated against a black background it helps brings out the meaning behind each object. For this task I plan to take photos of objects of the same size up against a black background.

Steve Purnell
In my response my photo's the quality was not as good as Steve Pernells and also the editing is not as good, because the glasses were dirty compared to Steve Purnell's glasses were entirely see through.
